DRINKS ON ME.... Although thank God it's virtual 'cause I shouted the real bar last night and have got a huge hangover....
I have some really HUGE news..... My biggest competitor has just gone bust!! He's closing his doors today. We have been competing with him for the last 15 years. He's a real dodgy operator too and the only thing that has kept him going so long is that his wifes father died and left them shedloads of money. it seems he has gone through it all though and is now selling his properties. Woo Hoo... Think I might celebrate some more!!!! |

Strawberry italian Soda coming up.......
I just found out that the owner didn't tell his staff he was closing down. They found out from one of my staff who visited for gossip but they didn't know they were out of a job... Typical of this man - total !@#$% hole. |

That's great news Chris! Hopefully that guy can find something else he's good at as we don't wish him and his family total ruin ... !
I went to a big party last night and I was designated driver; didn't get home till 4am and I feel like CRAP! I didn't even drink! My years are catching up to me I think, Also went to AussieCon. It was fun. I met George RR Martin and he's really lovely! Heard him do a reading. Also met Jennifer Fallon - read her books if you can. she's also really great. It was not as nerdy as I imagined it would be. A few start troopers and a jedi, a couple of girls in those scary goth-ish bustier dresses ... but otherwise some mostly normal people. I met a few people off one of George RR martin's forum (the equivalent ofthis) although I had only joined on Thursday, so I hate to say that I'm probably gonna start cheating on you guys at that forum! Boo tomorrow being Monday and me feeling like crap and not having done any work that I brought home! xx |

That's okay, Lucy. I've been having an affair with the Castle forums for ten months now. I'm glad you had a great time though!

Floozy.
My baby started first grade yesterday! Mr. B was home yesterday, so this is my first day on my own. Oh the joy! Whatever shall I do with myself? Yesterday, as I mentioned, I went out for breakfast with a friend to celebrate. I started with an apple pie Sundae, complete with carmel, whip cream, and ice cream on top. First thing I did was whip out my phone and send a pic to Mr. B. He sent back a pic of his middle finger! So I'm thinking, I need to get myself out of the house and hike daily, maybe actually do some cleaning, unpacking and avoid the temptation to veg in front of the computer, like I am at this very moment. Hmm. Maybe I ought to get a job too...

Apple pie sundae sounds heavenly, Lady B! I made a brownie sundae tonight for my husband and me, so it's not like I'm suffering from lack of sweets!

When my kids were young, I always thought that when they went to school I would have so much more time on my hands. Like you Bren, I would do something with my six kid-free hours of the day.
I have found though, that I am just as busy without them as I was, just now I don't have to lug them around with me!! My office is now a grown up space with plants, bookshelves filled with binders, coffee pots, etc, instead of portable cots, playpens, drawing on the walls, bookcases filled with toys, breast pumps, nappies, wipes etc!!!! |
