Theories on Book Two *POSSIBLE SPOILERS...DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOK ONE*

Hey there every one. I have been thinking lately on what is gonna happen in book two...we know that they are headed to the Continent, but what else do you think is going to happen?

I am kinda wondering if Princess Whats-her-face, you know, the one who drinks/bathes in blood is going to rear her head again? She seems like a dark character, and I have this vague foreboding feeling that she is gonna be bad news for our boys...

Any other theories?

Yeah, I agree--I feel like they're going to regret that day they sent the dragon breathing fire into her face! And from the story that Cade told about seeing her when he was younger, I kind of get the idea that she's a pretty sick freak...I don't even know what to think of her...

The first book is only a month old, and you're already speculating about the second one???
I guess maybe you kinda liked it, huh? <G>
At least please tell me you laughed in all the right places. I find, in my dotage, that giving people a giggle or three is more and more important to me.

Of course we liked it! You wrote it, how could we not like it?

As far as I know I laughed in the appropriate moments. I loved Mieka's determination in breaking all the rules for the carriage. I had some good giggles!

*grins* it may only be a month old, but if book two really does come out in October then there isn't much time to speculate :P

True story! I haven't spent much time speculating but I do have a few hopes...

*cough* Cade/Mieka *cough* happy love times *cough*

I mean, what?

We're a special sort of folk on this board, Melanie. Take it as a compliment!

That being said, I hope we get to see more of Blye & Cade developing a relationship.

Blye/Cade would be cute as well. I feel like that's probably the natural progression of the story.

I'm still hoping and praying for Cade/Mieka though. Mieka/Blye would be kind of a cute relationship as well, however. Three-way marriage, am I right?

I agree with Cade and Blye, I'm not completely sold on Mieka and Cade however, something tells me that if those two got together, CADE would be beating HIM almost every day, instead of Mieka beating his "wife"...*cough* bitchface *cough*

Haha, that nickname is sticking around, isn't it?

It's possible I was reading into the whole Cade/Mieka thing, but I was really feeling the sexual tension (don't know what that says about me!). I have to say, though, I would be satisfied with Cade/Blye or Mieka/Blye. I felt tension because in Mieka's chapters, he seems to spend all his time thinking about Cade and how he wishes Cade would write his own plays and how he sees that Fairwalk has a thing for Cade and he wonders how long it will be till Fairwalk will act on it, blah, blah, blah. And granted Cade is an important person to Mieka, but it seems a lot of thinking to devote to one person.

At the same time, Cade is so possesive of Mieka--that's where I see the tension coming in too! For example, "Mine he is, and mine he'll stay." Says Cade in the first few chapters. Of course, he corrects himself to "our," but when he thinks it in his head throughout the book it's still "mine." Am I reading in to it? Possibly.

Plus, didn"t Blye start flirting with some off-page guy toward the end of the book? I vaguely remember Cade teasing her about it...maybe I'm crazy. Argh. My memory is so bad! I had to pull out my book to check facts and make sure I wasn't totally insane about what I was remembering...college is destroying my brain...

2.5 months and I'm out of this place! For good!

*sigh* Unfortunately, the brain never recovers from the massive info cram that is university. It's charming when you're at a cocktail party as you can pull all KINDS of stuff out of there and impress the socks off people. Maybe that's because I took a science degree - lots of heavy memorization and regurgitation.

I am definitely hoping for Cade/Mieka sexy lovin' times - it vibed like that to me for the entire book. I did love the carriage rule breaking - it was kickass! I think it will be interesting to see how it goes in the Continent since they are so very different than anything they will have seen.

So true! Fortunately, being an English major and having a lot of literate friends, we just end up talking about books at parties! I thought about majoring in music therapy (so glad I didn't!), but it entailed far too much memorization. I have the worst memory ever. I have to read a book about 6 times before I start remembering the intimate details.

I'm glad I'm not the only one pushing for Cade/Mieka sexy happy fun times! I feel like Mieka is gonna make waves in the Continent and get into some trouble....rule breaker!

You're not crazy. Well, at least for this. Cade was teasing her about something with one of Mieka's older twin brothers. He gave her a kitten amongst things.

OH, right! I sort of took that as writing Blye off into the realm of other men. Writing off is not a good way to say it...setting up--as setting Blye up with men outside Touchstone so that Cade and Mieka could be together!

I just want it. It would make me so happy!

I'm kind of hoping for more to be explained about the wars, like a resurgence of the magics used then while they are on the Continent, maybe having to "change" their magic to defend themselves or something. More generally I hope their is more action in the next one...it just doesn't seem like a complete Rawn experience when someone isn't killed in *some* kind of altercation
