And so it begins

Enjoy voting guys, it is I think one of the most amazing things a person can do. To know that in that one small act they can influence history.

I hope John Kerry wins but I suspect he wont, but thats democracy for you and for all its flaws it is a good system and one we should all actively take part in.

Going to enjoy sitting up with CNN watching the results come in.

Catch you on the flip side.

I've never in this forum directly stated my political choices. This year I'm making an exception. I have many, many reasons to vote for John Kerry.
The horror and the anguish is that I have *too many* reasons to vote for John Kerry: more than one thousand reasons, in fact--all of them American, and all of them dead in Iraq.

Check Wil Wheaton's (http://www.wilwheaton.net) post for today, he says it pretty well despite his denunciations to the contrary.

Everyone, remember to get out to the polls today despite the dreary rain falling outside my window. I'll be casting my vote for Kerry in a few hours. I can't wait!!

done and done. one vote for Kerry/Edwards in PA and one vote "yes" for a multi-million deal that would improve schools, roads, sewage, etc. North Philly needs it desperately.

Wow when you want to make a point you do it quite bluntly. Go Melanie! I so wish I could have met you. One of these days I will althought I'm not quite as devoted as Ara but I'm getting there. I've just finished reading the first two books for the 5th time.

To everyone vote, vote your heart.

Voted this morning, lots of people at the polls, and even a poll watcher in attendance at the little church at the end of the street where our neighborhood votes.

Wonder what Jimmy Carter thinks of poll watchers overseeing an American election!

I voted today. I waited in line for nearly an hour and a half. Others I have talked to today have waited anywhere from 5 minutes to nearly 3 hours. Take plently of time, some water, and be patient.

Boooo! to poll watchers.

I plan on watching the Daily Show tonight for coverage. At least it'll make me laugh.

The only wait I had was for them to clear the challenge to my voting registration because apparently I didn't respond to mail sent to my Minnesota address. I can't imagine how that could happen, unless those types of letters aren't allowed to be forwarded (I was back in Florida for several months, after all). Not sure whether to just shrug it off (it wasn't that inconvenient) or be irritated that someone who knows less about voting rights might have been scared off. Oddly, I registered two years ago and it's only now become an issue.

Anyway, my school is hosting an electoral night party tonight (6pm-2am or later) with snacks and news coverage interspersed with Daily Show segments. I love my school. ^_^

I have TEN TRILLION reasons to vote for Kerry-- the five trillion dollar projected surplus for social security which is now a five trillion dollar deficit.

Bush claims to lead based on his faith, but I'm pretty sure Jesus would spit on him.

does anyone know at what time they begin telling the results? and at what time it ends?

because i have a bad feeling that it will end at midnight or so, but we have to get all the results for history, and we are in the middle of a test. *sigh*

anyway, at our high school they did an "election," and kerry won like 375-66. i had no idea there were that many bush supporters...

I'm thinking it'll be more likely that we'll all have to wait until tomorrow, depending on how things in Florida and Ohio go.

YEAH! for Aladra for voting and y'all here for waiting in line. Just saw an article that the networks are going to be extremely careful this year, no rushing to name the winner like 2000.
