LOL Velynna... good one... heh.
You can go to yahoo.com and lookit the (somewhat up-to-date) exit-poll results... they also have a map of the US posted with each state that has sent in results highlighted. Mouse-over the state for the details. Currently only 4 or 5 states reporting.. only one of which (Vermont) is a Kerry-state, the rest are GOP states, so it's totally inconclusive as of yet, but Bush is off to a VERY big lead. Should be an interesting evening.

Yes, but as of about 30 minutes ago, only 1% of precincts were reporting.
Sigh... it's going to be a long night. Anyone up for popcorn and hot chocolate? ![]()

lol, Xerxies, of course you forgot to mention that the states reporting so far are Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky as well as Vermont. We've got a looong way to go. I'm off to rehersal, but will be tuning in later. ::shivers::
see here for a good breakdown http://www.nytimes.com/ref/elections...President.html

I'm sorry, poll watchers? I'm Canadian and we're watching the election with interest, of course. Well said Melanie. I think you've summed up in those few sentences how most of us feel.

Well. Honestly, neither candidate is good for Canada - I've harped that point to death I'm sure, but seriously, are ya'll listening? You won't take our beef - you won't take our lumber (even though the World Trade Organization has told ya 3 times already that you have to
)

The subject of trade is always a sore spot on both sides of the border. Honestly, I'm more interested in how much longer the men and women in the service will be over seas. (I have friends over there and would like to see them again). On the other hand, I have a friend from Iraq who is praying for her family in Baghdad. Average people who are trying to survive day to day until order is restored.

well, I did mention that three of the four states were GOP states.
right now... only one quarter of the voting precincts have posted results... both canidates shared the swing-states, so ... that's moot. Hmm.. either the Kerry-voters are keeping their lips shut, or their lying to the pollsters to throw off the results. Or... could it be... there's actually that many people that favor Bush?

I only had to wait about five minutes this morning to vote. Which was a good thing, as I still had a one page paper to write before my 2pm class. *halo* Which was cancelled (still had to turn in papers, though), because the professor wanted us to go vote. ^___^
I'm very ancy right now, though. Must write, must write, must keep mind off this... *can't sit still* Agh! This is nerve wrecking! I think Cary (irl friend) rubbed off on me during class today. Gah.... And my roommates keep looking at yahoo, and now I'm tempted to, and no! Must...resist...temptation...GAH!!!! Honestly, I was never this politically caring until these past few years. Though, this is only my second presidential election... *sweat drop*

I can't take the suspense, either. I can't make up my mind to go to bed or stay up all night.

Yahoo reports that Bush won Florida..... so unless Kerry gets Ohio, (and it's not looking good at the moment) Bush will have his 270 electoral votes.
I'm not really in favor of, nor opposed to either canidate. Prolly Nader would actually be the best man for the job, but not enough support (finacial-campaign-wise). But still.. I have to admit being amazed that Bush is winning. I didn't think he really had that many backers. I wonder what the scandal will be this time around?

Um. aeryn? My ex is military and he's in Afghanistan right now. Last time, he left on a stretcher. I'm going to be Air Force. It's not a good situation that is likely to improve soon.
