Highwaymen : Robbers & Rogues

Beyond the Law…

The dangerous figure in the road at night…the dashing and romantic gentleman thief…the loner on the run for a crime he didn’t commit…the righteous rebel who rises from obscurity to help the less fortunate–these “highwaymen” are come of the most beloved and universal of archtypal heroes–or anti-heroes–that we know. Literature and media both about with the light-fingered gentry and artful dodgers, footpads, desperados, and other dashing, dangerous and fascinating miscreants.

Jennifer Roberson, Melanie Rawn, Dennis McKiernan, and their authorial band of conspiurators have gathered here to present you with twenty-three original stories of these right-minded or wrong-headed knights of the road.

But the roads their creations travel are vastly divergent: from takes of classic bandits such as Robin Hood, to a hacker plying his lawless trade on the information superhighway, to a supernatural highwayman who cares nothing for money, they span the ironic and bizzare, the comedic and the tragic, the science fictional, historical, romantic and fantastic. So board our coach if you dare and confront the many faces of HIGHWAYMEN: Robbers and Rogues.
